At the end of their 2015 world tour, the boy band sensation New Direction found themselves in a state of hiatus. It was during this time that the band decided to embark on a new project – the creation of a documentary. Yet, little did they know, this film would not go according to plan.
Enter Jake Jaxson, the renowned director from CockyBoys who took charge behind the camera for this daring project. With One Erection: The (Un)Making of a Boy Band, he invites us into the often unseen world of the music industry, shedding light on the chaos that unfolds when New Direction members Liam Riley, Levi Karter, Tayte Hanson, and Kody Stewart enlist the iconic DJ, drag queen, and pornographer, Chi Chi LaRue, to direct their next music video, “A Porn Love Story.” This decision came after band member Allen King’s departure from the group.
From the very beginning, the band members are cautious of Liam’s control-seeking tendencies and his determination to have the documentary made. However, as they collaborate with Chi Chi and the troupe of famous porn stars he has brought along for the shoot – including Trenton Ducati, Lukas Grande, and Rikk York – they gradually learn how to work together. While New Direction’s manager, Jason Maddox, has been assured by Chi Chi that there will be no explicit scenes in the music video, it seems that Chi Chi has his own personal agenda – an agenda that intriguingly aligns with Liam’s.
